Jesus is alive for evermore. Yes, He was crucified. Yes, He was buried. But the good news is, He rose again triumphantly on the third day. Hallelujah! This month of April is when we celebrate the “Resurrection Sunday.” The resurrection of Jesus Christ is the foundation on which our faith stands. Many humans who claimed to be gods lived on the face of the earth and died. The Bible talks about the God that became a man. Jesus truly is the son of God because he overcame death as He said He would. There is an empty grave in Israel.
When Jesus rose from the dead, even His disciples had a hard time believing that which He already told them. His twelve disciples who were very close to Jesus could not relate to the truth that Jesus is alive! After they saw Jesus, the fear left them. They started sharing the
gospel with boldness. Our life is not only impacted but transformed because Jesus is alive. Jesus lives forever: Jesus is the Son of God. His death, burial and resurrection cannot be denied even historically. Hebrews 7: 25, “Wherefore, He is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by Him, seeing He ever lives to make intercession for them.” We have a Savior that prays for us continually. In Rev 1: 17, 18 Jesus says, “Do not be afraid; I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore, Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death.” Because our Lord lives, there is no fear in us. He is in control of everything. Jesus said in John 11: 26, “And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die.” This is the assurance that we have as believers. Today, believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall never die. Instead, you will have ‘eternal life.’
how does the resurrection of ‘Jesus Christ’ impact our lives?
1. we have the assurance of forgiveness:
We have experienced the saving grace of God and know that He forgives sins. When we know God forgives our sins the burden of sin is removed from our hearts. The Bible says that we all have sinned. That includes you and me. We should also know that Jesus wants to transform our lives so that Christ is formed in us and we will not continue sinning. But, those who want to keep sinning and simply expect Jesus to forgive them without real repentance have no true relationship with God. That is abusing the grace of God. Paul says in Romans 6: 1-2, “What shall we say then? Are we to continue to sin that grace may abound? By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it?” Beware of the distorted gospel of ‘extreme grace’ that is becoming so prevalent that does not talk about the importance of repentance, righteousness and holiness.
2. resurrected body is promised:
Physical death is not an end in itself. Eternal life is a promise to every believer. We cannot lose what the Father has given to us in Jesus Christ. Jesus had a glorified body. He ate with his disciples and they were able to talk with Him and touch Him. Luke 24: 31 says, “Their eyes were opened and they knew Him; and He vanished from their sight.” With the resurrected and glorified body, Jesus could pass through walls and disappear so quickly. The Bible says, we will one day have glorified bodies. Romans 8: 23 says, “…even we ourselves, eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body.” Although our souls are saved, our bodies are still physically frail. God has promised you and me a resurrected body which will live forever in heaven. In our resurrected bodies, we will praise the Lord forever. What a joy!
3. we will meet all our loved ones that slept in jesus:
What a great news this is! If you lost a loved one, and if they knew Christ, you have an assurance. That just means that your loved one left in an earlier flight. You will catch the flight that is appointed for you. You will meet your loved one. God allows our relationships to continue in eternity. Remember that the disciples recognized Jesus after His resurrection. So we will surely recognize our loved ones. The only difference is that we won’t have marriage relationship like the way it is on earth. Matthew 22: 30 says, “For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels of God in heaven.”
In conclusion, the resurrection of Jesus is an important truth in the Bible without which there is no eternal life. Our faith hangs on this truth of resurrection. We are so glad that the death of Jesus Christ and His subsequent resurrection has given us eternal life and an awesome privilege to live in the presence of the Lord God Almighty forever and ever.
We believe and pray that you would receive Jesus as your personal Savior and Lord. We want you to be ready to meet your Creator when He comes back in all His glory or when your final moments on earth comes. There is no greater security in life than knowing that your eternal future is secure with your heavenly Father. If you already know Jesus as your Lord and Savior, please pass on this article to your unbelieving loved ones. They need to have an assurance of salvation too.
May the ‘message of resurrection’ bring a great assurance to you and
your loved ones, in Jesus’ name! Amen.
